Notice: MSDS Requirements for Battery Shipments

Aone Cargo would like to remind our clients of the latest requirements regarding the shipment of batteries. Ensuring compliance with these regulations will help avoid delays, fines, or additional handling charges.
Non-Hazardous Batteries:
The following batteries are generally considered non-hazardous and do not require a hazardous declaration or prior approval:
- Alkaline batteries (Zn-Mn battery)
- Carbon-Zinc batteries
- Standard dry batteries
MSDS Requirements for Specific Battery Types:
- Lithium Batteries:
- MSDS must be provided.
- Must comply with IMDG Code Special Provision SP188 before being accepted as general cargo.
- Lead-Acid Batteries:
- MSDS must be provided.
- Must comply with IMDG Code Special Provision SP238 before being accepted as general cargo.
- Nickel-Cadmium Batteries:
- MSDS and photos of the packaging must be provided to confirm whether the cargo can be treated as general cargo.
Important Reminder:
All battery shipments must clearly indicate the shipping form. Providing complete and accurate documentation ensures smooth customs clearance and handling throughout the transportation process.
